week 36/26
Notes from the week.
My favorite trail got destroyed by logging. Hard to see it happen.
I practiced drawing this week and I'm enjoying it. Practice makes perfect, so I kept at it.
Went OTB on my bike. Funny and stupid at the same time.
Took Friday off and went for a hike with Romča. A three day weekend is a great thing.
Things worth sharing — for you, and for me when I revisit this post in a couple of weeks or a year: HWY Run — Matty Matheson, Harley bikes, the music, the style. I'm no biker, but this was cool. And this song: The Mary Wallopers, The Big Mixer.

I shot considerably less than last week, and these are pictures that are not perfect, but I would like to see them when I come back here to see what I saw.

Sometimes I draw just by using coincidence, random brush strokes with mixed colors, and then adding shapes of what it might be. Easiest for me are the shapes of mountains, meadows and hills. Not a fan of manmade stuff like buildings built of concrete and glass. I might get there some day, but not yet. There's an exception for the occasional hut or a cross at the peak. It's basically just my imagination. If I really like what I have created, I often picture myself being there, in that moment. Escaping out of this world.
On some days, I go for a walk, often by the river, with some interesting features, like fallen trees or old bridges. We don't have big mountain vistas around here. I sit there and draw what I see. My mind just shuts off, and I come back only for a sip of coffee. I like these sessions as much as my imagination ones.

This was Friday. Clouds rolled in and covered the mountains. The wind was blowing strong, and the chilly air was a nice change from the hot summer. It felt like early autumn — a change of seasons is upon us.

Weekend gallery of the shots I want to remember — and I found a beaver dam!
